Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (C.P.T.E.D.) Program

Crime Prevention Thorough Environmental Design (CPTED) is the practice of using design standards to enhance security through natural surveillance, natural access control and territorial reinforcement. Buildings and spaces designed using the CPTED model maximize the natural resources available, whether they be people or natural features, to influence the behavior of normal and abnormal users to act in a positive manner.
