(Fort Myers, FL: February 11, 2012) - On Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:55 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at 2347 Crawford Avenue. The caller said two suspects had left the home with a television and a brown bag. Officers setup a perimeter and began canvassing the area. Sergeant Jason Pate located two suspects that matched the caller’s descriptions near the intersection of Jackson Street and Edison Avenue. With the assistance of more officers the two were detained without incident. Officer Keith Curr located the stolen items. Detective Jose Gomez responded to the scene and met with two witnesses and the victim. Detective Gomez and the victim walked through the residence room by room and noted about $1,400 worth of missing items. The witnesses positively identified the suspects and the victim got his belongings back. Police arrested Kamesha Crawford (d.o.b. 10-9-92 of Fort Myers) and Martell McClain (d.o.b. 4-5-91 of Fort Myers) for burglary and grand theft.
