(Fort Myers, FL: January 25, 2012) - On Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 3:25 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a silent alarm at the Bank of America located at 4301 Palm Beach Boulevard. Fort Myers Police dispatch attempted to confirm the situation with the bank on three separate attempts but the person who answered the phone was unable to do so. FMPD with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office setup a perimeter utilizing K9 and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit. The bank was eventually cleared by police. No robbery took place. The alarm was accidentally activated.
