(Fort Myers, FL: December 5, 2011) - On Sunday December 4, 2011 the Fort Myers Police Department with assistance from the United States Marshals Office Fugitive task Force located and arrested Joquinn Anthony Tavaris Benjamin (d.o.b. 9-3-88 of Fort Myers) for the November 24, 2011 murder of Christopher Ramirez (d.o.b. 7-3-89 of Fort Myers). FMPD detectives developed probable cause for Benjamin’s arrest and obtained an arrest warrant with the assistance of the States Attorney's Office in Fort Myers. The United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force located Benjamin at 606 S. Washington Street in Dublin, Georgia yesterday and arrested him without incident. Benjamin was arrested for second degree murder. Benjamin is currently in custody in Georgia awaiting extradition to Florida. Original press release
