(Fort Myers, FL: November 28, 2010) - On Sunday, November 28, 2010, at 3:58 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a single-car crash near the intersection of Shoemaker Boulevard and Humberside Lane. The investigation reveals the Chevy Malibu was traveling south on Shoemaker Boulevard. The driver’s side tires went up over the curb on the median. The driver overcorrected and the car ended up flipping multiple times. There were two occupants in the car at the time of the crash. Andre Thomas (d.o.b. 4-3-92 of Lehigh Acres) was ejected from the car and Leroy Bass (d.o.b. 6-18-79 of Fort Myers) remained inside. Both were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. Thomas died from his injuries and Bass was admitted for treatment. Police are still investigating but believe speed and alcohol may have been played a role in the crash. Police are looking for witnesses.
