UPDATE: Police arrested Jamaal Leonardo Idlette (d.o.b. 11/20/80, 2729 Orange Street) in the shooting of Crystal Walker (10/21/82, 3432 C Street). Idelette is charged with Aggravated Battery With A Firearm. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
(Fort Myers, FL: December 5, 2009) - At 4:57 this morning the Fort Myers Police Department received a call in reference to a shooting in the 3400 block of C Street. Upon arrival officers found one female victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. She was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Witnesses tell police that the victim was taking her trash out when she was shot by a male suspect. Police have setup a perimeter and are utilizing a K-9 to locate a possible suspect. Detectives are on scene following up on leads and an investigation is underway.
