(Fort Myers, FL: June 29, 2009) - Tonight at 8:01 the Fort Myers Police Department received a call from Lee Memorial Hospital about a patient that arrived with a gunshot wound. Jamel James (d.o.b. 7-24-90 of Fort Myers) had suffered a non-life threatening injury. James told police he was walking in the area of South Street and Prince Street when a car approached him. A male in the rear passenger side of the car opened the door and began shooting at him.
The car is described as a black, four-door, possibly Mazda with mirror tint and the rear drivers side window was busted out. Police are asking anyone that has information to call FMPD at 321-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. You can remain anonymous.
