Police Look to Identify Gas Station Burglars

On January 5, 2014 at 2:45 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to the BP gas station located at 4561 Colonial Boulevard in reference to two subjects who drove a stolen red pickup truck through the front entrance of the business damaging an ATM machine inside. The unknown suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the damaged ATM and fled in the stolen truck to a nearby apartment complex. Witnesses observed the two men abandon the truck and enter a late model four-door vehicle, possibly a Chevy Impala.

Police have obtained video surveillance of the incident. One suspect is described as a male of an unknown race, wearing dark pants with a grey hooded sweatshirt covering his head. The red truck involved in this incident was reported stolen through the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
