Police Locate Missing Child

Update Oct 9: Florida State Agricultural Officers (a division of the Florida Highway Patrol) located the missing child Crystal Reimer and her mother on I-75 at mile marker 465 which is just south of the Florida/Georgia line. The child appears to be unharmed and is currently in the custody of the Department of Children and Families. Officers have arrested Christine Reimer for driving on a suspended license and for bypassing a weigh station. The FMPD investigation remains active. Christine Reimer will be held in the Hamilton County Jail in Jasper, Florida.

 


“Police Investigating Parental Abduction”

On Tuesday, October 08, 2013 at 4:26 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to Lutheran Services located at 4150 Ford Street in reference to a call about an abduction of a child.

Upon arrival police learned that Christine Riemer (d.o.b. 4-14-67 of Fort Myers) was at the facility for a court ordered supervised visit with her daughter. During the visitation Reimer grabbed her daughter and fled out the back door. Police have issued an Amber Alert for Crystal Riemer (d.o.b. 1-28-06). Crystal is supposed to be in foster care. She is a special needs child and is about the size of a three year old even though she is seven years old. Their photos are attached. It is believed they are traveling in a Budget rental truck. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
