Police Investigating Bank Robbery

On Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:49 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery at the Iberiabank located at 8341 Dani Drive. Upon arrival police learned that a man and a woman entered the bank, implied they had a weapon and demanded money. They fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and none of the employees were hurt. Officers with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit established a perimeter and conducted a canvass of the area but did not locate the suspects. The FMPD Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene and detectives are currently following leads in the case. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspects could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
