Police Seek Information in Double Homicide

On Thursday, May 9, 2013 the Fort Myers Police Department assisted the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in locating and arresting Donal Dorvilus (d.o.b. 2-21-90 of Fort Myers). Dorvilus’ arrest stemmed from a federal indictment for a robbery with a firearm that occurred within in the City of Fort Myers. The robbery happened on December 20, 2012 at Motor Sports, located at 3120 Winkler Avenue. Police originally arrested Dorvilus on state robbery charges January 18, 2013. He bonded out of jail on January 26, 2013.

Dorvilus is also suspect in the double homicide of Paul Baldwin and Jiatarious Brunson on April 20, 2013. Investigators are hopeful that citizens who have information related to the homicide will come forward with new information on the case knowing that Dorvilus is facing charges in the unrelated crime. Detectives will continue to aggressively investigate the homicide and follow up on any leads that are generated. “We will remain relentless in the pursuit of those individuals that continue to plague our City with violence. We will exercise every strategy and every partnership in an effort to hold those perpetrators accountable for their crimes,” said Chief Doug Baker. “We are thankful for the assistance from our federal partners.”
