Police Investigating Suspicious Person

On Thursday, April 4th 2013 at 8:30 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department received a call in reference to a suspicious person. Police learned that a 13 year old girl was walking to her bus stop near the intersection of Palm Beach Blvd and Van Buren Street when a stranger in a white Jeep (unknown model) began following the girl and was attempting to expose himself to her. The young girl ran to a nearby residence for assistance and the police department responded. Prior to police arrival the suspect fled the area and the girl was unharmed.

The suspect is described to police as a white male driving a white Jeep, no other descriptions are available. The police department has extra patrols in the surrounding neighborhoods both in the morning and afternoon when school lets out. Police remind parents to teach children about stranger dangers and reporting suspicious activity.
