Police Investigating Bank Robbery

On Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 1:32 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery at the Edison National Bank located at 2105 First Street. Upon arrival police learned that a man entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police setup a perimeter using the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit but did not locate the suspect. Preliminary information suggests that the robbery at the Edison National Bank is linked to the robbery at the Fifth Third Bank that happened on Monday, February 25, 2013. Currently, police have an active warrant for the arrest Daniel Ball (d.o.b. 8-2-76 LKA Sanibel) for the robbery at the Fifth Third Bank. Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Ball is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) Keyword FMPD. Tipsters can remain anonymous. You may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest.
