Police Investigating Traffic Crash

On Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at 2:33 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of S.R. 82 and Lee Boulevard. Police learned that a black, Cadillac Escalade was sitting at a red light in an eastbound lane of S.R. 82. A tan, Ford Crown Victoria rear-ended the Escalade at a high rate of speed pushing the Escalade about 30 feet into the intersection. No other cars were involved in the crash. All four occupants of the Escalade to include two adults and two children were transported to hospitals for treatment. The sole occupant of the Crown Victoria, one adult male, was also transported to the hospital. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Police are still investigating. No further information available at this time.
