On December 15, 2012 the Fort Myers Police Department began investigating a fraud. The victim says she was shopping at a clothing store located at 3355 Cleveland Avenue when she was approached by a man and a woman who claimed they had won the lottery. The suspects convinced the victim that they needed money to collect the winnings. They also convinced the victim to withdraw all of the money from her bank account with a promise they would split a $30,000 lottery prize. The suspects took the victim to her bank and after she gave them the money they dropped her off at a nearby neighborhood where she called police.
The first suspect is described as a white female about 40 years old, 5’5” with light colored shoulder-length hair and a medium build. She was wearing a v-neck style shirt and dark pants. The second suspect is described as a white male about 20 years old, 5’8” with dark short hair and a medium build. He was wearing a red striped shirt and white pants. The suspects may be traveling in a blue four-door compact vehicle possibly a Nissan.
