Categories: News

(Fort Myers, FL: November 13, 2012) - On Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. The crash happened in the 3600 block of Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival police learned that the female driver of a Chrysler Sebring was traveling northbound on Cleveland Avenue when she entered the turn lane to make a left onto Golfview Avenue. The driver was attempting to cross three southbound lanes of Cleveland Avenue. The inside and middle southbound lanes of traffic were stopped and allowed room for her to cross the road. However, traffic was still moving in the far right lane. Her car collided with a Ford Crown Victoria being driven by a deputy. The deputy and the driver and a passenger in the Sebring were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital as a precaution. The driver of the Sebring will be cited for the crash for driving on a suspended license and for failure to yield the right of way.
