Police Looking for Burglary Suspect

(Fort Myers, FL: November 9, 2012) - On Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at 7:16 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to an occupied burglary in the area of Van Buren Street and Palm Beach Boulevard.

An unknown male entered the residence and encountered the victim who lived there. Startled by the man, the female resident told him to leave, but the suspect was so inebriated he claimed to live at the address. The victim attempted to push the suspect out of her home but the suspect attacked her. The victim fought back and managed to hit the suspect several times until he fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his twenties, with dark hair, wearing a white shirt and plaid shorts. Detectives canvassed the area Wednesday night and are continuing to investigate the case. They will also work with a sketch artist to obtain a better description of the suspect.
