Police Investigating Pedestrian Crash

(Fort Myers, FL: October 20, 2012) - On Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 6:30 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Canal Street. Upon arrival police learned the driver of a two-door Hyundai was headed northbound on Cleveland Avenue in the right lane when she struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway. The pedestrian was thrown over a guardrail and into a canal. The driver of the car stopped and helped the pedestrian until police and EMS arrived on scene. The pedestrian was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where he remains. Police have found the pedestrian at fault for the crash. The pedestrian has been identified as Adam Vaughn (d.o.b. 1-22-89 of Estero).
