FMPD Seizes Significant Amount of Drugs and Cash in Search Warrant

On May 9, 2014 at 5:30 a.m., the Special Investigations Group with the assistance of SWAT and uniformed officers conducted a lawful search warrant at 2230 Royal Palm Avenue. This location had been operating as a street level drug distribution center. After the residence was secured and the occupants detained, detectives conducted a systematic search of the residence. The following items of evidentiary value were recovered: Evidence seized:  196 grams of heroin  250 grams of MDMA  62 grams of cocaine  10 grams of marijuana  $18,296 was recovered and seized as proceeds from drug sales  Estimated street value of drugs seized: $44,000 Detectives arrested the following subject: 1. Alvin Alicea-Gomez (d.o.b. 10/04/1971 of Fort Myers): trafficking in heroin, trafficking in MDMA, trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, destruction of evidence and resisting arrest without violence.
