FMPD Investigating Armed Robbery

On Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:32 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department investigated a robbery at the Circle K located at 3614 Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival police learned a light skinned black or possibly Hispanic male entered the business, brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money and a carton of cigarettes from the clerk. The suspect then fled the business on foot in a southbound direction behind the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries during the incident.

The light skinned black or possibly Hispanic male suspect is further described as 5’08” to 5’10”, approximately 18 to 22 years of age wearing dark pants, green shirt and a black and white ball cap. “The surveillance video at the business is top notch and we’re hoping for a quick identification with the public’s assistance”, said police spokesperson Lieutenant Victor Medico.

Police would like the public to review the attached surveillance video and photographs of the suspect. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspects could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
