On May 2, 2014 at 11:20 a.m., the Special Investigations Group with the assistance of SWAT and uniformed officers conducted a lawful search warrant at 1764 N. Palmdale Court. The search was the result of a two month investigation that began with a Crime Stoppers’ tip stating someone from the residence was selling marijuana. Detectives took the complaint and corroborated it which led to an undercover operation.
After the residence was secured and occupant detained, detectives conducted a systematic search of the residence. The following items of evidentiary value were recovered:
136.5 grams of marijuana, street value of $1,100.00
One Smith and Wesson .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun
Packaging materials and scales used for street distribution of the drugs
$658.00 dollars of United States currency as evidence to the intent to sell charge
Detectives arrested the following subject:
1. Eugene Wade (d.o.b. 06/30/1988 of Fort Myers): possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a driver’s license.
“Today’s arrest, prompted by a Crime Stoppers’ tip, was a textbook example of the growing partnership between our community and the police department”, according to police spokesperson Lieutenant Victor Medico.
