FMPD Chases and Arrests Subject for Capital Sexual Battery

On April 29, 2014 at approximately 7:46 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department received a 911 call from a woman who stated she just observed her 3-year old daughter being molested by a known subject who was at the house doing mechanical work on her vehicle. When the mother confronted the perpetrator he fled the residence located near Alderman Street off Palm Beach Boulevard. 

Officers with the Fort Myers Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force arrived in the area just minutes after the call and began canvassing the area. VCTF officers spotted the subject matching the description running south on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard and began to chase him. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard in between Michigan Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The perpetrator was identified as Luis Dejesus (d.o.b. 05/05/1967). Detectives responded to the scene to assume the follow up investigation. Luis Dejesus was arrested and charged with capital sexual battery.
