Police Investigating Homicide

Update #1: Several images of the suspect’s and suspect vehicle involved in the homicide of Alexis Wilson are attached. The vehicle involved is further described as a silver or similar shade four-door sedan. These images were obtained from the 7-11 across from the Sphinx Hookah Lounge at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Solomon Boulevard. This vehicle was at the 7-11 at approximately 2:30 a.m. just minutes before the homicide. Also in the nine images are stills showing three male suspects and one female suspect.

On Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:37 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to the intersection of Winkler Avenue and Shoemaker Boulevard reference a gunshots heard call. The initial investigation revealed the following:

An unknown vehicle pulled up alongside the victim’s vehicle and opened fire at the Winkler Avenue and Shoemaker Boulevard intersection. The victim’s vehicle was struck multiple times and immediately drove to Lee Memorial Hospital. The perpetrator’s vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

While at the hospital medical personnel treated three females from the vehicle who suffered gunshot wounds. 17-year old Alexis S. Wilson (d.o.b. 03-12-1996, of Fort Myers) died from her injuries. Two other females inside the vehicle were later released with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives along with Crime Scene Technicians are actively working the investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Matt Sellers or Detective Emily Destefanis at 239-321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) Keyword FMPD.

FMPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons responsible for any homicide in the City of Fort Myers. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
