FMPD Marine Unit Rescues Four Boaters

On January 23, 2014 at 2:24 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department received a call from a distressed vessel that was taking on water in the Caloosahatchee River. FMPD Marine Unit Officer Keith Curr responded to Marker 49 where he located four elderly subjects on a 17-foot ski boat. Marker 49 is further described as 1-mile west of the Downtown boat ramp.

Officer Curr was able to tow the ski boat and four occupants safely back to the boat ramp. It is unknown why the vessel was taking on water.
