Police Locate and Arrest Bank Robber
On January 16, 2014 at 11:55 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department arrested Roy Keefer Gordon (d.o.b. 08-29-1990, of Fort Myers) for the bank robbery at Bank of America. A follow up investigation by detectives and uniformed officers quickly led to 3721 Metro Parkway, Apartment 4106 where Gordon was apprehended. Detectives located items inside the vacant apartment linking Gordon to the crime. Gordon is currently being interviewed by detectives and will be charged with robbery. “We are extremely thankful this case quickly came to a close”, said Detective Sergeant Shawn Yates.
On Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 9:43 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery at the Bank of America located at 2850 Winkler Avenue. Upon arrival police learned a black male dressed as a woman entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The black male fled the business on a bicycle with an unknown amount of cash.
The investigation and search for the suspect is underway. The suspect is further described as having a thin build and approximately 25-30 years of age. He was wearing a long black wig, large sunglasses, and carried a purse. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
