On Wednesday December 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department arrested Lequian Hudson (d.o.b. 03/27/1993 of 1717 Maple Drive, Fort Myers) for a bank robbery that happened back in September.
On Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at 10:52 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery at the Fifth Third Bank located at 11511 S.R. 82. Upon arrival police learned that a white van pulled up to the bank. Two masked males jumped out of the van and ran into the bank demanding money. One of them was armed with a gun. No shots were fired and no one was hurt. The suspects fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects got back into the van where a third suspect was waiting and they drove away. Police recovered the van in Lehigh Acres.
Since the September robbery, FMPD detectives have been working vehemently to solve the case. Evidence gathered from the scene identified Hudson as a suspect. Today police located Hudson with the assistance of the FMPD Violent Crimes Task Force at the Westchase Apartment Complex located at 3700 Metro Parkway. At the time of his arrest Hudson was found in possession of 5 grams of crack-cocaine and .8 grams of heroin. Police arrested Hudson for robbery with a firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for failure to appear for a felony offense. The investigation remains active at this time.
