Police Investigating Child Neglect Case

Categories: News

On Friday, December 06, 2013 at 10:36 p.m. an officer with the Fort Myers Police Department was flagged down in reference to a baby locked inside a vehicle. The discovery was made in the Lookers parking lot located at 4045 Fowler Street. Upon arrival the officer observed an infant in a car seat in the back of a Kia Optima. Unable to locate the adult responsible, the officer smashed out one of car’s windows to get the infant out. The infant was sweating and covered in vomit. The four month old baby girl was transported to Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida for mild dehydration. She is expected to be fine. Further investigation revealed that the infant was left alone in the vehicle for more than three hours while the adult responsible for her care was inside Lookers. Police arrested Andrew Sosa (d.o.b. 11-24-92 of Cape Coral) for child neglect.
