FMPD Officers Arrest Burglary Suspect

On Wednesday, November 26, 2013 the Fort Myers Police Department arrested Bennie James Richardson, 17 for Burglary to a Conveyance, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor and Theft of a Firearm stemming from an incident reported earlier in November on Sunbury Drive.  Richardson’s photo was obtained from a surveillance video, that was released to the media. Richardson was identified by officers from the Fort Myers Police Department from the photograph.

Officers went to Richardson’s residence, where they met with Richardson and his mother. Items connected to a recent burglary were observed in Richardson’s bedroom. Detectives from the Fort Myers Police Department obtained a search warrant for the residence, and located property linked to the above mentioned burglary.

Richardson was booked and will be held at the Juvenile Detention Center for 21-days.
