Police Investigating Robbery

On Friday, September 06, 2013 at 12:36 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery at the Check ‘n Go located at 4460 Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival police learned that an unknown male suspect armed with a gun entered the business and demanded money. The suspect was described to police as a light skinned black male, about 5’11 to 6’0”, wearing gray coveralls, gray beanie hat and a bandana around his face. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Surveillance video shows the suspect’s vehicle as a white four-door car, possibly a Dodge. The vehicle is missing the driver’s side front hubcap. Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) Keyword FMPD. Tipsters can remain anonymous. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
