Police Arrest Grand Theft Auto Suspects

Categories: News

On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 the Fort Myers Police Department’s Charlie Shift arrested three people for grand theft auto. At 5:19 p.m. an officer was traveling south on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard approaching Michigan Avenue when he witnessed a traffic infraction by a driver of silver Ford Explorer. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver accelerated and began driving erratically in an attempt to get away from the officer. The driver then hit a curb, overcorrected and crashed the SUV with the vehicle rolling over two times. Three male suspects then ran from the SUV. The suspects led several officers on a short foot pursuit before being taken into custody. Officers later learned the SUV had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Police arrested Luis Enrique Morales (d.o.b. 9-23-91 of Fort Myers), Amisael Rivera (d.o.b. 4-25-97 of Lehigh Acres) and Quayshon Madison (d.o.b. 12-3-94 of Lehigh Acres) for grand theft auto and resisting arrest without violence.
