Police Investigating Attempted Robbery

On Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 9:50 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to an attempted robbery at Valera’s Sport Cafe located at 2620 Fowler Street. Upon arrival police learned that two unknown suspects entered the business and one of them was armed with a gun. The owner of the business locked herself in the office and called her husband, who called police. The suspects fled the scene without obtaining money or property.

Surveillance video shows the perpetrators involved in the crime as well as the vehicle they were driving. The first suspect is described as a teenage male, 5’-8” to 5’-9” and 130-150 pounds. He was wearing dark basketball shorts with a white line down the sides and around the bottom, a dark skull cap, and a dark jacket/sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as teenage male, skinny, about 5’-8” to 5’-9” and 130-140 pounds. He was wearing dark pants or sweat-pants, a white skull cap and a cut off shirt with a Michael Jordan emblem on it. He was also wearing black sneakers with white soles and he was carrying a light colored backpack. A third suspect drove the car they used to flee from the business.
