This morning at 5:40 the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Winkler Avenue Extension. The investigation revealed that a husband and wife were attempting to cross Colonial Boulevard when Jodie Provost-Hansen (d.o.b. 08/11/78, 4721 Orange River Loop Rd.) walked into the path of a Honda CR-V. Provost-Hansen was pronounced dead at the scene prior to officer arrival. Police urge pedestrians to use crosswalks and to obey all traffic signals.
The incident is still under investigation.
