Juvenile Arrest and Monitor
The Juvenile Arrest and Monitor Unit (or JAM) is responsible for intensely monitoring young people who the courts have assigned to "Community Control" and home detention.

Juveniles monitored by the officers in this unit have demonstrated difficultly in abiding by their court ordered sanctions and continue to be arrested. The JAM Unit is a joint effort between the Fort Myers Police Department and the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

Officers assigned to this unit regularly check on the juveniles they are assigned to monitor -- both at home and at school -- and take a zero tolerance approach to any violations of their court-ordered sanctions.

The goal of the unit is to ensure these juveniles are held accountable for their crimes and are monitored to prevent further law violations.
