The work of the Fort Myers Police Department’s police officers is supplemented by the crucial assistance of Auxiliary Officers. These dedicated men and women volunteer their time to assist police officers with everything from minor reports of crime to time consuming projects such as directing traffic. The valuable assistance of Auxiliary Officers allows the agency’s police officers to concentrate on major crimes and ongoing crime problems.
The Fort Myers Police Department is always looking for men and women interested in volunteering as Auxiliary Officers. To sign on, Auxiliary Officers must pass a criminal background check and present their drivers license, birth certificate, social security card and high school diploma.
For more information about becoming an Auxiliary Officer, please contact Sergeant Roger Valdivia at (239) 338-2194.
