The districts are a new way to allow for better enforcement and assignment of assets.(Please click on the image to see the new districts)

The goal of community policing is to get citizens involved in identifying crime problems and working with officers to solve them. Residents know better than anyone the problems of an area. Community policing also goes beyond crime issues to get to the root of problems and improve the overall quality of life in neighborhoods.
Patrol officers utilize community policing in their jobs, as do other police employees. However, the agency dedicates a number of employees to focus nearly exclusively on community policing: Community Policing Coordinators, Public Housing Officers, crime prevention and community outreach employees.
