FMPD Responds to Reports of Early Morning Shots Fired

On Monday April 9, 2018 at approximately 6:11 am officers from the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at a house at 2875 Economy Street in Fort Myers. Upon arrival officers canvassed the area and located several shell casings across the street in an adjacent property. Four members of the household were inside the residence asleep at the time of the shooting, no one was injured.


Multiple bullet holes were found in the roof line of the house as well as in a vehicle located in the driveway and garage door. Inside the garage officers discovered bullet holes in another vehicle which was leaking gasoline.  The area was secured and the Fort Myers Fire Department was called into clean and contain the leaking fuel.

The FMPD Crime Scene Unit arrived on scene to gather and take possession of evidence and pertinent information, this remains an active investigation.
