Couple Wounded by Gunfire on Belmont Street

At approximately 4 a.m. on February 27, 2018 officers with the Fort Myers Police Department were called to investigate a report of gunshots being fired in the area of Polk and Belmont streets in Fort Myers. Upon arriving at 3761 Belmont St officers found a male and a female suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as Zarifer King (date of birth August 7, 1979) and James Benjamin date of birth September 14, 1998) both were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital to be treated. There is no threat to the general public.
