Respect for Law Camp

Respect for the Law Camp Participants

About the Camp

The Fort Myers Police Department’s annual Respect for Law Camp is a summer tradition. The goal of the camp is to give youngsters an up-close look at law enforcement. By doing that, the Police Department hopes to build respect for the law and enhance the child's self-esteem. The camp’s staff members are local law enforcement personnel and public safety guest speakers. Highlights of the camp include live police scenarios, SWAT demonstrations, K9 demonstrations, police obstacle courses, hands-on equipment displays and team-building activities. The 4-day, 3-night Respect for Law Camp is open to children ages 11-14. Enrollment in the camp is limited to the first 132 campers to apply.
