About the Program
The Fort Myers Police Department’s Explorers Post #55 is a Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life career education program.
The objective of the program is to provide an in-depth look at law enforcement and related fields. Each participant will learn ethical decision making skills through:
Community service activities
Positive social interaction
Problem solving techniques
Most police explorers have an interest in law enforcement as a career and this program is a foot in the door to becoming mature, responsible peer leaders with the tools for furthering their ambitions. Activities include classroom presentations, practical exercises, and ridealongs with officers that focus on the latest crime prevention techniques.
Police Explorers focus on the following:
Building individual character
Developing leadership skills and potential
Gaining appreciation for community service
Becoming a good citizen
